Colombia: Peñas Blancas
Colombia: Peñas Blancas
Medium
Colombia's Peñas Blancas coffee mill was developed by Nestor Lasso and Jhon Vergara, superstars in experimental processing and farm management methods. It hosts workshops and training programs by industry leaders for members of the community who rely on coffee for their livelihoods. This lot is the result of hard work of those community members and the efforts Lasso and Vergara have made to improve access in the region.
This year we have a regional lot from multiple farmers. Smaller holders can sell their coffees at mills like Peñas Blancas for processing and export. The mills grade and sort coffees on site to create regional blends that showcase the versatility of the coffees available. This is a fantastic example of traditional Colombian coffee, complete with a lighter body, subtle red fruit acidity, and cocoa powder depth.
